History

The Shoe Wheel is the brainchild of designer, Danilo Torro, who came up with the concept when he was living in Hong Kong. Torro, a former manufacturing engineer for McDonnell Douglas, got tired of piling up his family’s shoes in the corner of their spare bedroom. Seeking a better way to organize their shoes, he came up with the Shoe Wheel, a storage system that would simply make their life easier.

Paying homage to the Shoe Wheel's Asian Roots, Torro named his company "Rakku," meaning "rack" in Japanese.
